Qing Madi denies N493 million payday, celebrates concert success
Nigerian singer-songwriter and dancer Qing Madi has responded to reports of her alleged N493 million payday for her concert in Uganda, seemingly denying the claim.
In a post on her Instagram page, Qing Madi wrote, "If I were paid as much as she was paid, I would be acting nice, too," hinting that the reported amount may be exaggerated.
Instead of dwelling on the controversy, Qing Madi chose to focus on the success of her concert, which she described as "the most special day of my musical life." Also, she expressed gratitude to God and the people of Uganda for turning up and making the event a triumph.
Additionally, Qing Madi's concert in Uganda was her first since gaining recognition with her 2022 singles See Finish and Ole. Despite initial doubts and discouragement from some quarters, the 18-year-old artist proved her critics wrong, selling out her show and winning over the hearts of her Ugandan fans.
Meanwhile, popular Instagram blogger Tunde Ednut had earlier claimed that Qing Madi was paid $300,000 (approximately N493 million) for her performance. This sparked widespread excitement and debate on social media.
