Industry experts attribute the rise of Afrobeats to factors such as social media, streaming platforms, and collaborations with international artists. The genre has experienced a staggering 550% increase in streams on platforms like Spotify between 2017 and 2022, with over 14 billion streams recorded in 2023 alone.
