Chike receives a plaque from TurnTable Charts for 'Egwu'

Nigerian music star Chike has been awarded the Number 1 plaque for his chart-topping song Egwu, featuring the late Mohbad.

NotjustOk previously reported that, Egwu claimed the Number 1 position on this week's Official Nigeria Top 100, marking Chike's inaugural entry at the top of the official singles chart in Nigeria.

TurnTable Charts celebrated Chike's accomplishment on their official Instagram page on Thursday, January 25, 2024. In the post, Chike is proudly photographed with his plaque, symbolising his prestigious Number 1 status on the Top 100 chart in Nigeria.

Chike's impact with the hit song Egwu, featuring the late Mohbad, has been substantial. Released in December 2023, the singer's fusion of R&B, Igbo indigenous music, and Afrobeats in Egwu has gained immense popularity, especially on social media, with over 400,000 TikTok videos featuring it. Furthermore, within just one month, Egwu has amassed an impressive 5.9 million streams on Spotify, solidifying its position as a chart-topping success.
