During his performance at the TD Garden Arena in Massachusetts, Burna Boy was presented with a plaque by the Boston Council, reiterating the significance of Burna Boy Day.

During his electrifying sold-out performance at the TD Garden Arena in Massachusetts, Burna Boy made history. He received a prestigious US government-certified plaque in his honor. This plaque officially recognizes Burna Boy's monumental contributions to music and culture, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career.

The Plaque also officially reaffirms that March 2 will be the official Burna Boy Day. According to the city of Boston council, Burna Boy "proudly embraces his Nigerian and African identity infusing it with contemporary sounds to create that resonates with audiences thereby challenging stereotypes about African artistry".

Burna Boy is the first and only African artist to sell out the 20,000-capacity TD Garden in Boston, USA. With his official day, Burna Boy joins Wizkid (October 6) and Davido (July 7) as Nigerian musicians with their official day in the United States. The African giant received a nomination for International Artist of the Year at the 2024 BRIT Awards. Unfortunately, he lost this category to American R&B singer SZA.
