The singer who'd released this statement on the 18th of August via Twitter had cleared his name regarding the brewing case saying, "My since deleted tweet stating that I spat in a police officers face was an idiomatic expression to say I disrespected a police officer to his face and not the literal way people may have taken it on social media. I do not support violence or abuse against the police in any form."

The singer while expressing his gratitude for care and concern shown, also advocated for space to focus on his art and spoke on his assault experience at the hands of the police officers yesterday.

The BNXN and Nigerian police officers assault debacle took place on the 17th of August when videos of the singer being flanked and verbally harassed by gun-carrying members of the police had surfaced on the internet.

Following the incidence, the Nigerian Police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin put out a statement assuring Nigerians that the officers would be brought to book. He'd however also reacted to a now-deleted tweet by BNXN stating he'd spat in the face of a police officer, saying that he would also be persecuted for his actions.
