Premier League reveals August 2026 player of the month

Chelsea forward João Pedro has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for August 2026, following an impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign.

The Brazilian attacker was one of eight players shortlisted for the EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month award after helping Chelsea win both of their opening league matches. João Pedro finished the month with two goals and two assists, playing a key role in Chelsea's perfect start. He scored just seconds into Chelsea's opening match against Fulham before setting up Cole Palmer for the winning goal.

He continued his excellent form against former club Brighton & Hove Albion, scoring Chelsea's third goal in a thrilling 4-3 victory before once again assisting Palmer for the decisive goal.

His performances saw him emerge as one of the standout players in the Premier League's opening weeks.
