Shallipopi releases new statement on court case with Dapper music

In his latest post on social media, Shallipopi has revealed why he won't share words about his ongoing court case with Dapper Music.

Nigerian singer Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has explained his recent silence over his ongoing dispute (court case) with his former manager, Damilola Akinwumi, known professionally as Dapper.

The singer said he has been advised by his legal representatives and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to refrain from making further public comments about the matter while an investigation is ongoing.

Shallipopi had previously accused Dapper of withholding royalties from 46 of his songs, leading to a public fallout between the artiste and his former manager.

However, the singer has now indicated that he will no longer use his music, social media platforms or other public channels to address the dispute.

In a statement, Shallipopi said stepping back from the public conversation was necessary to allow the legal process to run its course.

He explained that his legal team and the EFCC had advised him to trust the investigative process rather than continue discussing the allegations publicly.

The singer said this meant he could no longer address the dispute through his songs or social media posts as he had done in recent weeks.

According to Shallipopi, although he remains confident in the claims he has made, he understands that publicly commenting on a matter under active investigation could interfere with the pursuit of justice.

He said his decision to remain silent should not be interpreted as a withdrawal of his allegations, but rather as an attempt to allow the relevant authorities to handle the case.
