Blaqbonez delays 'No Excuses' album release

Nigerian rap sensation Blaqbonez has announced the postponement of his highly anticipated album, No Excuses.
The album, No Excuses was originally slated for release tonight, August 22, 2025, but Blaqbonez took to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, August 21 to share the news, stating, "now that you guys are a little excited, i have something to say…"
In a screenshot of a statement shared in his tweet, the rapper explained his decision with characteristic transparency. "I just want to say the album no longer drops tonight," he wrote. "I didn't finish it on time - that's the truth. Since I want to put out the best album ever, I've refused to cut any corners, and that means it's taking a little longer."
The album, which will mark Blaqbonez's fourth studio project, has been the subject of intense speculation among fans for weeks. With a planned 16 tracks, No Excuses is expected to feature the artist's trademark sharp lyricism, playful bravado, and infectious energy. Leading up to the expected release, Blaqbonez had already given audiences a taste of the project's sound with standout singles like Louder, W for WETEGO, and Go Crazy.
While the delay is a disappointment for eager listeners, Blaqbonez offered a consolation prize. He confirmed that a new single from the album, Everlasting Taker, will be released. He urged fans to "focus our energy on that," signaling that the wait for the full project will be worth it.
The rapper’s discography has charted a steady evolution in sound and storytelling, from the anthemic hits of his 2019 album Sex Over Love, including Haba and Bling, to the more introspective tracks on Young Preacher and the critically acclaimed confidence of Emeka Must Shine. With No Excuses, he is poised to once again take center stage in Nigeria's thriving hip-hop scene.
Blaqbonez assured fans that the new release date is "mad close" and that he will only announce it when it is "10000000% sure." For now, fans will have to settle for the new single as they wait patiently for the full album.
