Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ breaks history with US streams
Afrobeats prince, Rema has stamped himself in the history books with Calm Down’s US streams.
Rema who allegedly purchased a luxury truck is celebrating one billion in-demand US streams for his hit, Calm Down. Since its release in 2022, the single has garnered attention even with its remixx featuring Selena Gomez.
Since its release, it soared to number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a feat rarely seen for Afrobeats tracks. Additionally, it is the first Afrobeats song to top the American radio chart.
This achievement makes Calm Down, the first Afrobeat song to achieve this and in turn, Rema is the first African artist. This is phenomenal for the Afrobeats community and Africa at large.
