Here are key reasons why we believe Chelsea might struggle to win a title or trophy in the next four years of club football activities.

Following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino as the head coach of Chelsea, the Blues have been thrown into a state of turmoil making it difficult to predict the future of the club in the coming years.

With the recent developments with Chelsea winning a trophy or title might just be far from the conversation for now and this could become a growing concern for fans in years to come.

For a club as prominent as Chelsea, winning domestic league titles and prestigious tournaments like the Champions League has been a significant part of their culture and history since the era of former owner Roman Abramovich. However, the recent series of events has left fans with more questions than answers, as they are confused about the new direction of the club under the new ownership.

The Boehly-led Chelsea administration with their actions over their two years at Chelsea have confirmed the fear of football analysts as well as some fans worldwide, which is Chelsea is set to deviate from the usual winning model.

For many this might not be a concern but for a club whose fans are so used to winning, they might need to consider their allegiances.

Why Chelsea might miss out on winning trophies in the next four years

Here are two distinct factors that could lead to Chelsea struggling with winning club titles and trophies in the next four years under the Boehly-led administration:

The Chelsea Ownership

The recent departure of Pochettino from Chelsea indicates the direction the club's owners are leaning towards. Reports suggest that Pochettino left the club because he wanted to have a say in Chelsea's transfers for the 2024/2025 season. He was pushing for key players like Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah to be retained by the club.

The appointment of Pochettino at the beginning of the 2023/2024 club football season initially caused a lot of speculation about the preferences of Chelsea's ownership for the managerial position at the club. Many believe that the management had overlooked head coaches who sought full control of their dressing room.

The recent departure further feeds into these rumours as speculations now confirm that the management would be opting for who has been categorised as a young coach with a shortlist of possible replacements for Pochettino at Chelsea already in circulation.

This could affect the goal of winning titles at the club with younger managers having little or no experience when it comes to handling big clubs or playing on the biggest of stages.

Chelsea's transfer goals or plans

With two of the core players who revived the 2023/2024 club football season already linked out of Chelsea, many can not rule out the probability that the transfer goals of the club can be detrimental to possible plans to win a title or trophy as the years go by.

With the board opting for young talents with limited or non-existent experiences, the core identity of the club and lack of unification or alignment which might be built every season becomes non-existent as the goal for the club centres around the development and sale of young talents.

It however remains to be seen but players might also begin to question the philosophy and model of the club and in the long run limit who joins the club.

With the position of manager at Chelsea currently vacant, these are mere speculations but it is expected that these could be major factors that could set The Blues a few years back in history and club heritage regardless.
