3 reasons why Chelsea could appoint Jose Mourinho as new manager

Chelsea Football Club has been a shadow of itself since Roman Abramovich left the club after things broke up between himself and the UK government when Russia invaded Ukraine.

The Blues, who are currently in the hands of a new owner, Todd Boehly, have failed to replicate the success on the pitch that was experienced under Russian billionaire Abramovich. Chelsea has invested over a billion pounds in the last three transfer windows (summer 2022, winter 2023, and summer 2023).

The Stamford Bridge club has had four coaches ( Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Frank Lampard and Mauricio Pochettino) in the dugout of the Men's team in the past 18 points. Some Chelsea supporters have asked that the incumbent (Pochettino) be sacked following the inconsistency in results since he took over in June 2023.

However, with the termination of Jose Mourinho's contract at Serie A side, AS Roma, there is a possibility that he could be on his way to Stamford Bridge.

Here are three reasons why Chelsea could sign Jose Mourinho;

(1) Trophies:

Chelsea needs to win trophies so they can justify the amount of money that they have spent in the last three transfer windows. Mourinho is a serial winner when it comes to winning, so the Blues should be rest assured that he will bring home the trophies.

(2) Unity between the Chelsea board and the supporters.

Most supporters of Chelsea football club have expressed their displeasure with the way the owners are doing business at the club. The board's decision to sack Tuchel is one that most supporters will never forgive them for because of the connection the German had with them and also leading the club to win its second UEFA Champions League in 2021.

(3) Jose will attract top players

Chelsea have not been able to bring in top players to the club for almost two seasons following their inability to qualify for European competitions. If Chelsea can bring in Jose, he will be able to convince those players to join him in London.
