Diego Simeone takes decision on his future at Atletico Madrid

The highest-paid coach in the world, Atletico Madrid in the world, Diego Simeone has signed a contract extension with the La Liga club.

The news was confirmed on the club's official website on Thursday, November 9, 2023. According to the details of the new contract, the Argentine international signed a deal that will see him stay at the club until 2027.

Diego Simeone is set to be one of the longest-serving coaches in the world and the longest at the club a football club, he has been with Atletico since 2011. He has managed 642 games, won 380, lost 117, and drawn 145 as at the time when the new contract was announced.

The club have won eight titles since he took over which includes, two league titles (2013/14 and 2020/21), one Copa del Rey (2012/13), two Europa League (2011/12 and 2017/18), two European Super Cups (2012, 2018) and one Spanish Super Cup (2014).

He also led them to two Champions League finals, in 2014 and 2016.
