Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games: Bose Omolayo Wins Gold for Nigeria, Sets Record
Bose Omolayo won Team Nigeria their second gold medal at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. The Nigerian achieved this feat by setting a record on Sunday, August 29th, 2021 at the Games in Tokyo.

Omolayo lifted 141kg to set a record at the Paralympic Games in the women's -79kg powerlifting competition. She previously broke a record at the Rio 2016 games where she lifted 138kg, which earned her a gold medal.
This win means Team Nigeria has won four medals at the games, which include two gold and two silver medals, all coming from powerlifting.
She now joins Latifat Tijani on the list of Nigerians who have won the gold medals at the Tokyo games. Olaitan Ibrahim and Lucy Ejike have their names on the list of bronze medalists.
