2baba is from the Idoma tribe in the Southern part of Benue State, Nigeria, but he was born in Jos, Plateau. He attended Mount Saint Gabriel's Secondary School in Markudi, Benue state. He often infuse the idoma language in some of his songs like "Odi ya", "Ocho", and more recently, "Searching"
