The 40-year-old took to his official Instagram account on Thursday, May 26th, 2022 to reviewal that he played football in the last six months without an ACL in his left knee. The Swedish man was reportedly said to be out of the game for at least eight months.
For the past months, I have played without an ACL in the past six months in my left knee. Swollen knee for six months. I was only able to train with the team 10 times in the last six months. Took more than 20 injections in the past six months. Emptied my knee once every week for six months. Pain killers everyday for the past six months. Barely slept for six months because of the pain. Never suffered so much on and off the pitch. I made something impossible something possible. In my mind, I had only one objective, to my teammates and coach champions of Italy because I made them a promise. Today I have a new ACL and another trophy.
Zlatan was a key part of AC Milan that won the Serie A title for the first time in 11 years ahead of Inter Milan.
