Coach of Al-Sadd, Xavi Hernandez gave a bit of hope to fans and the board of Barcelona after the club's game on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021.

The former Barcelona player is the preferred candidate by the club to take over the coaching job following the sack of Ronald Koeman. The Dutchman was fired from his job after the Catalans suffered defeats against Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano.

Xavi who was speaking after Al-Sadd 3-3 draw against Al Duhail said he was optimistic that both clubs will reach an agreement.

He also said, the club knows his state of mind and he is looking forward to returning home.

The two clubs are in talks and it needs to be resolved. I am looking forward to going home, as you can imagine, but it is a matter of respect. I have a contract and the two clubs have to agree. I am very excited to go home and even more to be a Barcelona coach, which has a lot of responsibility, but I very am excited and motivated.

The Barcelona legend was optimistic that the deal will be concluded between both clubs.

I am very positive, that's how I am, I have been very clear about what I want. I think it is a matter of hours, maybe days. They know my position, hopefully, it can be done.

Al-Sadd had released a statement after meeting with the Barcelona representatives saying they are not ready to let Xavi leave the club at this point.
