Barcelona's hope of reaching the UEFA Champions League final kissed the dust following their defeat against Paris Saint-Germain at the Camp Nou.

The defeat has been described by Barca fans as one that was enhanced by the referee's poor performance during the game. Barcelona has initially taken the lead courtesy a fantastic strike from Raphinha.

However, things went sideways for Barcelona when Ronaldo Araujo was shown a straight red card for stopping a goal-bound move from Ousmane Dembele. PSG ran riot over their host as they took advantage of the extra man which saw them win the game 4-1 on the night and 6-4 on aggregate.

The manager of Barcelona, Xavi was furious during the post-match interview, according to him, the referee's poor officiating ruined the game for his team.

He said,

"It is pointless to discuss the game the referee destroyed it all”.s We can’t stay silent. He changed the game and the entire tie. It was a disaster. It has been a strange refereeing. I say strange, better than using another word."

PSG will face Borussia Dortmund in the semi-final as both teams will be looking forward to a final in Wembley.
