Chelsea’s top midfielder Cole Palmer has been ruled out for an extended time than expected after he picked up a minor injury on his toe at his home.

The head coach of Chelsea Enzo Maresca gave an update while speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Burnley. According to him, Cole Palmer will not be available anytime soon due to the latest injury to his toe.

He said,

"Cole Palmer has a fractured toe after an accident at home. He is probably not available for Burnley… Barcelona or Arsenal, for sure. His toe it’s fractured… Cole was almost back from the groin injury but now he has this small issue”.

The England international suffered the groin injury in August but returned to action the following month with back-to-back goals against Brentford and Bayern Munich.
However, Palmer was then forced off injured at Manchester United, prompting Maresca to rest him to recover, and has now stubbed the small toe on his left foot on a door during the night.

Chelsea have not suffered much without the presence of Palmer following the arrival of Willian Esteavo at the club. However, the supporters of the club will hope to see the England international back to fitness before the end of the year.
