The future of West Ham United's captain Declan Rice has been in doubt in the past few seasons due to his fantastic form for the Hammers.

The Englishman has been linked with a move to his childhood club, Chelsea Football Club but there have been more suitors in the last few months.

West Ham's Chairman, David Sullivan confirmed that Rice rejected the offer that the club offered him in the last few months. However, he said the player has been permitted to leave the London Stadium.

He was speaking to Talk Sport after West Ham United were crowned Champions of the Europa Conference League beating Fiorentina 2-1.

We have promised Declan Rice he could go. He set his heart on going. He rejected our £200,000-a-week bid 18 months ago, I think offers will start to come today. There are three or four clubs who have shown interest.

Arsenal are expected to make an official bid for Rice as a possible replacement for Granit Xhaka who has been linked to Bayer Leverkusen.
