Watch Thomas Tuchel Evaluate Chelsea's Transfer Window

The manager of Chelsea Football Club, Thomas Tuchel has evaluated his team's business during this transfer window.

Tuchel was speaking at a press conference while he is with his players and coaching staff at the club's pre-season training. The German said, the Blues need a couple of players to improve the current squad as they go into the next football season.

We need a couple more players in to improve the squad. We have been third last season, we can not discuss endlessly about the reasons. There was a gap between us and Manchester City and Liverpool. If you want to keep your position or fight for that position, you need to improve, you can never stand still, if you stand still, other teams will overtake you, so given the situation that we even lost players, it concerns that we need to bring new quality to the team to maintain our level and improving our level.

Tuchel had previously said that the team needs to bring in more defenders to fill in the void that was left by Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. The Blues have brought in Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly from Manchester City and Napoli respectively.
