The wait was officially over for football lovers in Saudi Arabia as they anxiously waited for the unveiling of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 37-year-old recently agreed on a two-year deal with Al-Nassr and was welcomed by over 25,000 spectators and newsmen at the Stadium. Ronaldo's expressed his desire for the new deal and mentioned how excited he was to be joining the club.

However, he said, he received proposals from clubs in Europe and also in the MLS but decided to move to Saudi Arabia because he has given the club his word.

I can say now that many opportunities in Europe, many clubs in Brazil, in Australia, US and even in Portugal many clubs tried to sign me. I gave my word to this club; only to Al Nassr. My work in Europe is done. I played at the best clubs in the world… and I won everything. I’m happy, proud to join Al Nassr. People don’t know about the level here. This contract is unique because I am a unique player. It's normal for me. It’s simple. I’m coming here to win, to enjoy. What I want to is to enjoy and to smile.

Supporters of Ronaldo and Al-Nassr will hope he can continue to break records during his time in Saudi Arabia.
