Here is why Victor Osimhen's rumoured move to the Premier League in the June 2025 transfer window might not be successful.

As the 2025 summer transfer window draws closer, reports of players making key moves to other clubs have continued to emerge and surface. One of such talents is Victor Osimhen, who is expected to be one of the hottest Nigerian prospects in the transfer window, and with him being already linked to clubs in the Premier League, fresh reports indicate that the move may not be possible due to a few reasons.

According to popular sports journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Victor Osimhen's rumoured move to the Premier League might suffer a huge blow due to the following reasons:

  • Victor Osimhen is reportedly requesting a 12 million euros net salary plus commissions.
  • With a 75 million euros release clause, no Premier League side would be willing to pay that.

What is the latest Victor Osimhen transfer update?

Victor Osimhen is set to depart Napoli permanently this summer and will not remain with Galatasaray, where he has shone during his current season-long loan spell.

Although the striker has expressed a desire to play in the Premier League, and top-flight English clubs have shown interest in the past, they seem to be focusing on other targets.

As reported by The Athletic, Arsenal is prioritizing the signing of Viktor Gyökeres, while Manchester United has turned its attention toward securing a double transfer involving Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap. While some reports from Italy suggested that Osimhen had agreed to personal terms with Manchester United, journalist David Ornstein dismissed these claims, stating that the forward is not part of the Red Devils' plans.
