The former number 1 tennis player surprised her supporters when she made a wild card request to pair up with Britain's Jamie Murray in the mixed doubles, according to reports from the Daily Mail. Venus is a household name when it comes to winning titles at Wimbledon, she won the singles five times and the Women's doubles six times.

Venus did not apply for a wildcard for the Women's single event, but she will be competing with Murray who won the doubles in 2007 and 2017. The pair have never played together but will be replicate the combination that their siblings Serena Williams and Andy Murray gave their supporters something to cheer about at the All England Club in 2019.

Venus had earlier said she won't be participating at the Wimbledon but she will be watching to support her sister, Serena.
