#USOpen: Carlos Alcaraz Equals Rafael Nadal’s 17-year-old Record
World Number four tennis player, Carlos Alcaraz wrote his name in the history books of tennis at the ongoing US Open.
He became the youngest tennis player to reach the final of any Grand Slam final since Rafael Nadal achieved that feat at the 2005 French Open. The 19-year-old achieved this feat by beating Francis Tiafoe of the United States of America, in a thrilling five-set match which lasted for over four hours, 6-7, 6-3,6-1,7-6,6-3.
Alcaraz will face Norway’s Casper Ruud in the final of the US Open on Sunday, September 11th, 2022. Both tennis players have never won a grand slam title in their careers, and the winner of the match will automatically be the new World Number 1 tennis player.
