Ruben Amorim gives update on Mathues Cunha's transfer rumour

Manchester United head coach, Ruben Amorim have for the first time spoken about the rumours linking Mathues Cunha to Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim was speaking in an interview just a few days after the end of the 2024/25 season which has been considered as the worse in the club's history for almost 50 years. According to the Portuguese international he will not speak about his fellow country man because there is nothing confirmed between among all the parties involved.

He said,

"I won’t confirm anything. I have no news. We will see. There will be some changes."

Manchester United have met the terms Cunha's £62.5m release clause and been given permission by Wolves to speak to the Brazil forward. Wolves earlier rejected United's proposal to pay the fee over five years. The Red Devils will be required to pay the full fee for the 26-year-old in three instalments over a two-year period.

Cunha has been in fantastic form since he joined Wolves having made 92 appearances since he movedfrom Atletico Madrid in January 2023, scoring 33 goals for the club.
