The Manchester City coaching staff and players anticipated staying in the hotel that they used when they played against Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals of the competition. According to reports from Mirror Football, there was no enough rooms for the members of staff and players of the Cityzens.

Pep Guardiola is said to be superstitious and likes to return to hotels which he considers to have been lucky for his teams in the past. They have had to switch to the nearby Mandarin Oriental Ritz hotel, where rooms still cost around £850-a-night as against the Four Seasons Hotel which cost them around £1000 a night.

Manchester City won the first leg 4-3 at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, April 26th, 2022 and will hope they can repeat the same feat when both sides meet on Wednesday, May 4th 2022. The Cityzens are in search for their first-ever Champions League trophy while Real Madrid are going for their 14th trophy
