#UCL: Atletico Madrid Ends Manchester United Run in the Champions League

Atletico Madrid have knocked out Manchester United from this season's UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

The La Liga team needed a goal from Renan Lodi in the 41st minute of the first half to end the dreams of the Old Trafford faithfuls. Manchester United had half-chances in the game but they were unable to beat Oblak in goal.

Atletico thought they took the lead the head of Joao Felix but it was ruled out by the linesman for offside. Diego Simeone's men also had their own chances in the game but they were not clinical enough to score more than a goal.

The first leg was an evenly balanced game as it ended 1-1 with goals from Joao Felix and Anthony Elanga. The result left football fans a lot to look forward to at Old Trafford.

The result means Atletico Madrid has advanced to the quarter-final of the Champions League and they will know their opponents when the draw takes center stage on Friday, March 18th, 2022.
