Reports indicate that Barcelona might make an unexpected move to sign a Chelsea star player in the January 2023 transfer window.
With reports out of the Chelsea training ground that some players are unhappy about the current situation at Chelsea and do not trust the Graham Potter process, Spanish giants Barcelona are set to swoop in and make a deal to sign a player from Stamford bridge.
Reports indicate that Barcelona has enquired from the Spanish football board as to if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can be registered in the squad following the sale of Memphis Depay or Frenkie Kessie.
Reports indicate that Aubameyang is also looking to make a move away from Chelsea 'at all cost' following the poor run of form of the player since Graham Potter took over. According to goal.com fans are also urging the Gabonese international to make a move away from the club.
Barca universal revealed:
Aubameyang would be willing to return to Barcelona ‘at any cost’ and has even contacted Xavi to inform that he misses the club and wants to come back.
This development comes amidst Memphis Depay being linked with a move to Atletico Madrid as a potential replacement for Felix. Talks are being held between the two parties over the Dutchman, but Xavi is reluctant to lose any players without replacing them.
However, with Aubameyang now seeking a return, Depay’s exit will hold the key to any such operation. But it must be noted that the Chelsea striker would have to make a significant financial sacrifice in order to secure a move back to Barcelona, who are again struggling with FFP issues.
