Chelsea's defender, Tosin Adarabioyo has cleared the air about reports linking him to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the past.

The centre-back was asked about the possibility of playing for the Super Eagles during the post-match press conference after Chelsea's victory over Real Betis in the final of the UEFA Conference League. He about representedland on 14 occasions between the U-16 and U-17 levels but is yet to break into the national team.

There are reports the player turned down the chance to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the past. However, Tosin Adarabioyo has denied the reports and claimed he needed time to settle down at Chelsea.

He said,

"I never turned down Nigeria and I have never had a conversation that I will be going to Nigeria. At the point last season, where there was a bit of conversation, I said I wanted to focus on club football, I was at the last year at Fulham and now at Chelsea, in my first year, where I needed to concentrate. Now is the time I need to make a decision (on international future).”

The 27-year-old has been a key part of Chelsea's success since the beginning of this season ( 2024/25) having qualified for the UEFA Champions League and also winning the Conference League.
