Top 5 Clubs Awarded Most Penalties in Premier League History

Liverpool Football Club broke the record for the most penalties awarded to a club in the history of the Premier League.

Manchester United held the record, having been given 169 penalties since the competition since 1992. The Reds took over the record on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 when they were awarded two penalties at Anfield against Leeds United. Liverpool won the game 6-0 with a brace from Sadio Mane, and goals each from Joe Matip and Virgil Van Dijk.

Liverpool now top the penalty board with 171 penalties, the Red Devils are in second place on the table with 169 penalties.

Chelsea are third on the list with 157 penalties, the Gunners are fourth on the table with 156 penalties. Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are fifth on the table with 137 penalties.
