Bayern Munich were crowned Champions of the 2022/23 Bundesliga season on the final day of this campaign.

The former Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel led the Bavarians to their 33rd Bundesliga title and the club's 11th trophy in a row. The Bavarian side headed into the game two points behind Dortmund, but their rivals went down 2-0 within 25 minutes of their match against Mainz before Raphael Guerreiro pulled a goal back. Nicklas Sule went on to equalise at the death but it was too little too late.

Bayern were also close to losing the game when Koln scored an equaliser in the 81st minute from the penalty spot, but Jamal Musiala won the title for Tuchel's side in the 89th minute.

Bayern's season has been filled with ups and downs but they had to sack Julian Nagelsmann in March and replaced him with Tuchel. The ex-Chelsea had also had a bad patch as they were eliminated from the Champions League and DFB-Pokal and then fell behind in the Bundesliga title race when they lost to RB Leipzig on Matchday 33.
