Thomas Tuchel Explains How Chelsea Lost to Leeds United

The manager of Chelsea Football Club, Thomas Tuchel, has reflected on the poor performance against Leeds United.

The German blamed the team's defeat on mistakes which was made by his players during the game. Leeds thrashed Tuchel's team 3-0 away from home at Elland Road on Sunday, August 21st, 2022.

I think we lost the game in the first 20 minutes. We were good until this point, we were better and had some huge opportunities. If you want to win games at this level, you have to convert these chances and we did not. Then we lost track lht what made us strong, made it an even game and then we gave two presents away for both Leeds goals. We gave two gifts away and that is why we lost the game.

He also spoke about the change in formation in the second half of the game where he switched from a back three to a back four.

We changed things up for the second half to try and get back into the game. Maybe I should havee stuck to the plan but we tried and unfortunately, it made no difference because we did not execute our game plan at all.

Chelsea's next game is at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, August 27th, 2022. The Blues will hope they can bounce back against the struggling foxes
