Bayern Munich forward player Thomas Muller has announced that he will be leaving the Bavarians at the end of this season which is also the end of his contract.
The news of Thomas Muller leaving the Bundesliga club was announced on the website of Bayern Munich on Saturday, April 5, 2025. The 35-year-old midfielder joined Bayern in 2000 but did not make his senior debut until 2008, playing 17 years with the first team.
Muller sent an emotional letter to Bayern Munich supporters confirming his exit from the club.
What did Thomas Muller say about his exit from Bayern Munich?
He thanked everyone at the club and also appreciated how they supported him from the beginning of his career to the end.
"Even after all these years, regardless of the minutes I play, I still really enjoy being on the pitch with the lads and fighting for titles together for our team. I could have easily imagined taking on this role next year as well. However, the club consciously decided not to negotiate a new contract with me for next season. Even if this wasn't in line with my personal wishes, it's important that the club follows its convictions. I respect this step, which the board and supervisory board certainly didn't take lightly."
How many trophies did Muller win at Bayern Munich?
Muller won 33 trophies at Bayern including 12 Bundesliga titles, the most of any single player in the German top-flight and two Champions Leagues.
However, he could add one more title to his cabinet as Bayern are nine points clear of Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the league.
