Thiago Silva sets a new record at Chelsea
Chelsea's first-team defender, Thiago Silva wrote his name into the history books of the club during the game against Manchester City.
The Brazilian international became the oldest player to score a goal for the Stamford Bridge club. Thiago Silva achieved this feat in the 4-4 thriller played at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, November 12, 2023.
Silva scored Chelsea's first goal of the game just four minutes after going a goal down to Erling Haaland's penalty in the first half. He has also joined the league of Teddy Sheringham, Dean Windass, and Ryan Giggs to score a Premier League at the age of 39 or older.
The remaining goals of the game were scored by Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer for Chelsea while Akanji, Rodri and Haaland's brace were the goal scorers for City.
