Hag took charge as manager of Ajax in 2017 and led them to the Semifinals of the UEFA Champions League in 2019, losing to Tottenham on away goal rule. He has been linked to the managerial job at Manchester United following the sack of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The 51-year-old was speaking in an interview with de Volkskrant, a sports outlet in the Netherlands on Saturday, December 4th, 2021. According to reports from the interview, he said he is ready to move to a foreign club.
I think I'm ready for it (to move to a top foreign club). I would be happy to take up that challenge. But I'm not chasing it. If it turns out that step does not come, I will not say that my coaching career has failed. But I think I have sufficient competences to take on that challenge.
Ralf Rangnick is currently the manager of Manchester United on an interim basis and he will leave the role at the end of the season to become the club's director of football. Hag has won two league titles and cup competition inhis time at Ajax.
