Super Eagles of Nigeria give update on Wilfred Ndidi's availability for AFCON 2023

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have now shared an official update on if Wilfred Ndidi will be joining the squad ahead of AFCON 2023.

The official update which was shared today, Wednesday, January 3, 2024, confirmed that Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi will infact not join the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of AFCON 2023.

Recall that reports had initially stated that Ndidi will not feature in the tournament a statement released by the team further confirms the fears of fans worldwide.

The official announcement also confirmed that the midfielder will be replaced by Alhassan Yusuf a midfielder who plays in the Belgian First Division A for the club side Royal Antwerp.

Super Eagles of Nigeria give new update on Kelechi Iheanacho ahead of AFCON 2023

The Super Eagles of Nigeria also expressed doubts on if Kelechi Iheanacho will be joining the team ahead of AFCON 2023 stating that they are hopeful the Leicester City player who picked up a knock will be fit enough to join the team.

A final decision will have to be reached today as the deadline for squad changes and update stated by CAF is today, Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
