The Super Eagles have moved three places up in the latest ranking released by the body governing football, FIFA.

FIFA released the latest ranking on its official website on Thursday, February 10th, 2022. Nigeria moved up to 32nd in the world and third among the African countries.
Super Eagles were part of the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations which was hosted in Cameroon. Nigeria was knocked out in the round of 16 by their North African counterparts, Tunisia. The Super Eagles opponent at the FIFA World Cup qualifier, Ghana are ranked seventh in Africa and 52nd in the world
Winners of the Africa Cup of Nations, Senegal moved to 18th in the world on the ranking this is their highest ranking ever. The AFCON runners-up, Egypt and Cameroon are fourth and fifth in Africa respectively, the North Africans are 34th in the world while the Indomitable Lions are 38th in the world.
