Eric Chelle gives injury update ahead of Zimbabwe clash

The head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Eric Chelle has given an update on the fitness of his players ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
The former Mali coach confirmed during his pre-match press conference that all his players are available for the game. According to him, all the players are fit and focused because they know the importance of the game.
He also spoke about how difficult the game would be for Nigeria when they face Zimbabwe.
"We make a good training session yesterday, we need to finalize our preparation this evening. It won’t be easy, Zimbabwe are a good team and we need to focus on our team. I spoke with my guys (players), we have to focus on Zimbabwe and work hard."
Super Eagles captain, William Troost Ekong also reaffirmed the words of Eric Chelle during the press conference.
He said,
"Rwanda game is in our past, we are focusing 100% on tomorrow’s game. There’s no easy game in Africa. We are preparing to continue working. We are looking forward to the game tomorrow and to rise to the occasion. It is the job of the coach to determine the system, it is a progress and we are working on it. We have intelligent players that will adapt quickly. We have the quality, and we have to show it tomorrow. We have experience in the team, we are ambitious and we want to be at the World Cup."
When is Nigeria vs Zimbabwe?
The World Cup qualifier will be played on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 5 PM at the Godswill Akapbio stadium in Uyo.
Nigeria are currently fourth in the group behind South Africa, Benin Republic and Rwanda respectively.
