SHARE

It was a day of tears and sadness for every Southampton supporter around the world following their relegation from the Premier League.

This is the third time that they will be relegated from the top-flight football in England in 11 years. The Saints relegation was confirmed following their 2-0 defeat against Fulham on Saturday, May 13th, 2023.

Southampton began the season with long-term manager Ralph Hasenhuttl but he was sacked by November and replaced by Nathan Jones. They picked up a total of 130 wins in that time, with Danny Ings’s 22 goals during the 2019-20 campaign the highest total achieved by a Saints player in a single Premier League season.

Southampton has two more fixtures to play this season with a visit to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, 21 May, before hosting Liverpool at the Mary’s for the final day of the season.
