South African coach reveals the Nigerian player that will dominate AFCON 2023

Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa's head coach, Rulani Mokwena has named the Nigerian player that will deliver the best performance at AFCON 2023.

Rulani Mokwena in a press conference revealed that his pick for the best player at AFCON 2023 is a Nigerian player who he believes will deliver at all levels and also dominate the tournament as a whole.

Rulani named Victor Osimhen as his choice for the best player of the tournament. He stated the reason for his selection and he said, "Victor Osimhen is one player who you can count on. He is in great form and we have seen his abilities in front of goal. He leads the line confidently and scores lots of great goals and in tournaments like this you need goals.”

It is no surprise that the African Footballer of the Year and the Ballon d'Or top 10 finalist has been tipped to be the stand-out player of the tournament which kicked off on Saturday, January 13, 2024, in Ivory Coast.

Victor Osimhen has also lived up to this expectation as he recorded his first goal of the tournament and many believe there is more to come in the competition.
