Farah was speaking in an interview with the Guardian, according to the 10,000 meters runner, he played football as a child but was not good enough to join the Gunners. He rather opted to join a local running club.

I would have loved to play for Arsenal but I was not good enough. I played at school and for a local club until I was 14 but I was only good because I could cross the ball and run forward and run back. I do not have any other skills. I joined a running club instead.

Farah missed out on the Tokyo Olympic Games after finishing 19 seconds outside the qualifying time at the British Athletics Championship which made him unable to defend his 10,000 meters title.

The long-distance runner also spoke about his injury and is looking forward to getting back into shape. He suffered a stress fractured ankle in the summer of 2020.

I am getting back to running after my injury. When I get fitter and stronger. I can see how much I can do. I hope to make the marathon. You have got to enjoy the moment and enjoy what you do. So I hope to keep competing and keep smiling.
