Saudi Pro League set to appoint Michael Emenalo as its director of football

The Saudi Arabia professional football league is reportedly set to appoint Michael Emenalo as its first director of football.

The Nigerian will be a resourceful addition to the league following his experience in the role while he was at Chelsea Football Club between 2011-17. The Athletic confirmed the news exclusively on its official website on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

The former Nigeria international footballer was responsible for bringing top players to Chelsea during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Emenalo was at Chelsea from 2011-17 before he went on to spend two years as sporting director for AS Monaco. He is expected to bring a staff along with him who will also be adding his wealth of experience to the Saudi league.

He will also keep a close eye on the future of the youngsters which will help enhance their own careers.
