Ruben Amorim reportedly confirms his first target for Manchester United
Manchester United’s head coach, Ruben Amorim, has reportedly confirmed the first position that he will need to tackle when the 2025 January transfer window opens.
Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his official X that the club are looking to bring in a left-back who will be able to fit into Ruben Amorim's plan for the season. According to the Italian, Manchester United are looking at the option of three players who will fit into the plan of the Portuguese, Alphonso Davies and Milos Kerkez part of the names being targeted by the Red Devils.
Manchester United signed Amorim from Sporting Lisbon following the club's decision to terminate Erik Ten Hag after a series of bad results at the club across all competitions. However, it is yet to be seen if they will be bringing in a player in January or at the end of this season (2024/25).
United are currently 13th in the Premier League after a dismal start in which they have won just four of their first 11 fixtures. However, they are only four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, such is the compressed nature of the table.
Amorim first game for Manchester United will be on Sunday, November 24, 2024, when the Red Devils visit Ipswich. Manchester United supporters will hope that the club will replicate the same success that Sporting Lisbon experienced during his time in Portugal .
