The head coach of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim has given an update on the fitness of Luke Shaw and Mason Mount as the 2024/25 season reaches its end.

The Portuguese international was speaking ahead of the Premier league game against Ipswich Town at Old Trafford on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Ruben Amorim comfirmed that Luke Shaw is still far from getting back to full fitness but Mason Mount is the closest of the pair when it comes to returning to action.

He said,

“I still don’t have return dates for Mason Mount or Luke Shaw. At this point, Mount is closer to returning”.

Shaw has played just three games for Manchester United since July 2024, the same number he had played for England while Mount has been out since December 15, 2024, and there is still no confirmed date ad it concerns when the pair will be back.

Manchester United board might have to take a drastic decision as it concerns the future of both players as they continue to look for ways to cut cost going into the new season. The Red Devils are currently 15th in the Premier league table which is their worse form in the competition's history for over three decades.
