Roy Hodgson Speculated To Make A Return To The Premier League
The 74-year-old would become the oldest coach in the premier league if the deal is completed.
Roy Hodgson is rumored to be in talks with Watford FC to replace Claudio Ranieri, who was fired on Monday, January 24th, 2021 after a poor run of form at Vicarage Road in three and a half months with the Hornets.
If an agreement is reached, Roy Hodgson might be in charge of the Hornets till the end of the season. This would be the first time he has taken up a new job after resigning as head coach of Crystal Palace in the 2020/2021 season. Roy Rodgson is a prolific coach in the Premier League with vast experience. He is often called a relegation specialist after keeping Crystal Palace in the Premier League since he took over as coach of the club.
He is out rightly known for his defensive set-up that often proves to be tough to crack for clubs. Watford FC will be hoping Roy Hodgson can replicate the success he had at Crystal Palace at Vicarage Road as the newly promoted side is currently 19th in the Premier League table and in relegation trouble.
Watford are set to play Burnley FC on Saturday 5th February 2022, and this might be the first test for Roy Hodgson in a probable bid to get the Hornets together.
