Portuguese iconic forward Cristiano Ronaldo showed his anger after being substituted off in Manchester United's recent win against Brentford.

The goal poacher was taken off in the 70th minute by coach Ralf Rangnick, after goals from Anthony Elanga and Mason Greenwood, to be replaced by Harry Maguire to boost United's defense.

After he was subbed off, Ronaldo made his feelings known outrightly, complaining on the bench about the coach's decision.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner had not featured for United since January 3 due to a hip problem, and not playing full time in his comeback match was something he didn't like.

United eventually won the match 3-1, thanks to an additional goal from Marcus Rashford.

Speaking with BT Sport, Ragnick stated why he had to substitute Ronaldo. He said:

That is normal - a striker wants to score,

But he has come back from a little injury and it was important to remember we have got another game coming up.

Also after what happened at Villa Park, we had to defend the lead this time and it was important that we went back to a back five and while we didn't keep the clean sheet, it was important to make sure nothing else happened
