Rodri gives update on his future at Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has given an update as it concerns his future at the Etihad when his current contract expires.
The midfielder was speaking in an interview while on international duties with Spain. Rodri admitted that discussions over his future will eventually need to take place, especially with time gradually ticking on his current deal.
The midfielder acknowledged that while nothing is imminent, there will come a point where both he and the club must sit down and make a decision regarding the next phase of his career.
He said,
"I have one year left on my Manchester City contract. At some point we will have to sit down and talk. Even though I've played for Atleti, [Real] Madrid isn't a closed door for me you can't turn your back on the best clubs. I would like to return to the Spanish league, I still follow it. The Premier [League] is my weakness but it is also a very demanding league. For now, I am very happy there."
The 29-year-old also addressed ongoing links to Real Madrid, a move that has been widely speculated given his Spanish roots and elite profile. Rodri made it clear that he would not completely dismiss interest from top clubs, describing such situations as a natural part of football at the highest level.
Rodri emphasized that his primary focus remains on his current responsibilities at Manchester City. With crucial fixtures and silverware still on the line this season, the midfielder reiterated his commitment to delivering success for the club before making any long-term decisions.
