Referee for the Atalanta vs Bayer Leverkusen Europa League final revealed

The referee who will officiate and take charge of the Atalanta vs Bayer Leverkusen UEFA Europa League final has been revealed.

István Kovács, a referee from Romania, has been selected to officiate the 2024 UEFA Europa League final between Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen.

The match is set to take place at Dublin Arena in the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday, 22 May 2024, with a kick-off time of 8 pm West Africa Time.

Kovács has an impressive track record, having already refereed eight UEFA Champions League matches, including the quarter-final second leg between Barcelona and Paris, as well as one Europa League game this season.

Notably, this will be his second time officiating a UEFA club competition final, following his role as the referee for the 2022 UEFA Europa Conference League showpiece between Roma and Feyenoord in Tirana.
