The captain of Chelsea Football Club, Reece James has been ruled out of the trip to the Kings Power Stadium against Leicester City.

The Blues head coach, Enzo Maresca confirmed the injury to Reece James in his pre-match press conference ahead of his return to Leicester City since he
left them in the summer. According to him, the defender will be out for a while but it is yet to be confirmed if it will be for a short or long period.

What did Enzo Maresca say about Reece James?

He felt something small. Hamstring. It's a muscle problem. We don't want to take any risks for this weekend. Yes [short-term] It was two days ago [he felt something]. I know it's not easy, but if every time James gets an injury it becomes harder for him it's, for me, even worse. He has to accept and try to avoid as much as he can. Sometimes things happen even if you want to avoid. Hopefully he can be available next game”.

The England international have played just four games this season with the Blues managing just one win throughout the games.

Reece James has been unfortunate with injuries since the beginning of last season he has missed 271 days. Chelsea supporters will hope that James' injury does not last for a long time and that he can return to full fitness before the game against Aston Villa.

What is next for Chelsea?

French defender, Malo Gusto will take James place in defence pending when the England international returns from the sideline.
