Real Madrid's player risks jail term for allegedly sharing a minor's s*x tape

Real Madrid player Raul Asensio could be facing a lengthy jail term along with some other players for allegedly sharing a sex tape of a minor.

The Gran Canaria High Court of Justice announced on Wednesday, May 14 2025, that an investigation regarding the alleged incident had finished and made an order to formalise criminal proceedings.

The court confirmed that four footballers, including Asencio, could face criminal proceedings over allegations they recorded and distributed videos of sexual content which involved a minor and another woman.

The other players involved include, Andres Garcia, Ferran Ruiz and Juan Rodriguez which occurred at a beach club in Gran Canaria in June 2023. Ruiz, Rodriguez and Garcia were arrested in September 2023 and when Asencio provided a testimony as a witness, he then became involved in the investigation.

Asencio had an appeal for an investigation into his alleged role rejected by the court in February 2025. Ruiz, Rodrigues and Garcia are no longer at Madrid having departed the club last summer. The 22-year-old has since gone on to make 41 appearances across all competitions having made his debut in November 2024.
